Prolouge: So It Begins...

Morgan continued to wonder around sickbay looking and examing everything despite already knowing most of these things, he wouldn't be a medical officer if he wasn't here waiting for his next ship.

Kathleen wa just 'wandering' around- of course, she would never have put it that way. She was headed to the docking station, to see when the Athena would arrive. When she got there, she noticed a young human female and a Klingon woman talking, and recognized them as some of the people who were posted to the Athena. She had read the personell files of the Athena before coming, and so knew who they were.

She decided not to speak to them, instead turning to the head of the docking department. "When is the Athena coming in?" she asked.

The man seemed to have noticed her optical implant first-thing, and the expression on his face mirrored that of the transporter chief's. "I...I don't know." he stammered.

Kathleen's face merged into an expression of near-disgust. "It is inefficient to not know what is going on in one's own department. Find out." she said.

The man seemd a bit put-off by this, and simply rolled his eyes and left. Kathleen sighed silently, and turned around.

Morgan exited the sickbay looking happy, a smile plastered on his lips. He decided to go to his tempoary quarters for a bit.

Owen finished his respective beverage and got of the chair and with a nod to the ferengi bartender, left the bar.

Lillian Daniels had arrived safely at DS9. She informed one of the senior officers of the station of her situation. Not soon after one of the security department heads found Captain Owen. "Excuse me sir. There is an important matter that requires your attention. No it can not wait. It concerns a passenger."

Eliza Jane, still by the wall looked at her 'Klingon friend'. "Well not that this isn't fun,but I'm going to see if there isn't any action lurking about. I'll see ya on the ship."

Owen faced the security officer and nodded after registering his words. "Very well" he acknowleaged calmly.

The security officer led Captain Star to his office where another guard was waiting with Lillian.
He nodded to the other guard and he left the room. Lilly turned to look at the captain. "This is a problem sort of speak." He said as he gestured to Lillian who was sitting.

Owen raised his eyebrow at the guard. "I don't see a problem, just a passenger unless there is something else to be told" Owen replied calmly.

The guard looked at Lillian. "This is Captain Star." Lilly looked at Captain Star. "Sir..." Lillian began. "My name is Lillian Daniels. My parents, Luke and Gina Daniels were to serve aboard the Athena but something awful happened on route captain." Lillian paused for a moment. "The shuttle we were on ended up having a malfunction. Cause unknown. My parents did not survive. I was wondering what was to be done with me. I have no other family." Lilly explained.

The Captain was shook a little by the sad news. "I am sorry for your loss." He said sincererly, he thought for a moment before continuing studying the girl in front of him. "Well, if you may decide if you wish to join the crew of the Athena and if you want we may be able to find some sort of job for you perhaps" he said with a kind tone as well as a smile.

Kathleen had left the scene of her future shipmates, and was wandering around on the promenade. Suddenly, a borg component caught her eye, so she headed into the shop that had it. The proprieter, a Bolian, came up as she was examining it. "What do you think?"

"It is rusted and malfunctioning. If anyone attempted to use it, it would either explode or start assimilating people." Kathleen said, turning.

The Bolian appeared a bit put off by this statement, until he saw her implant. "oh, you're borg."

"Partly." Kathleen answered, going over to another rack. She turned back to the Bolian. "All your borg parts are malfunctioning. You should replace them all." With that, she turned and left the shop.

Lilly smiled a bit. "I believe I'd like to be a part of the crew. Perhaps in some small way I can contribute a few things I have learned from my parents. Then their deaths would not be in vain." Lilly looked down for a moment. She had a slight feeling things just might turn out fine. "Thank you Captain." She then had a thought. "When is the Athena arriving?"

Eliza Jane wandered about. She decided to go check out a few shops to help pass the time. She hoped she did not offend that Klingon back there too much. After all on the same ship for how long? I hope Klingon's don't hold too bad of grudges.

"Your welcome" Owen replied kindly, he thought on Lillian's next question and answered calmly "Either the end of this day or tomorrow noon" He told her.

Lilly held out her hand for a handshake. She felt it the proper thing to do.


Eliza Jane wandered here and there. Soon she saw a Borg. Eliza walked up to her. "Don't tell me Borg started a new rule where if you assimilate enough people you get to take some shoreleave."

Kathleen turned her head and silently gazed at the young woman for a moment. "I am no longer part of the borg collective." she informed quietly.

Owen took Lillian's hand gently and shook, retracting his hand several moments later.
