Prolouge: So It Begins...

Owen's eyebrow rose and rose by every second when Eliza began explaining her fake exscuses and he was a was annoyed despite being the light hearted Captain and man he was. "Lt, you are not the only one in engineering and you are not the only qualified engineer in this room so i advice that you put a little trust in you're engineering crew from time to time instead of neglecting you're duties elseway..." Owen said his face darknening just the slightest.

I think he meant elsewhere. Eliza Jane thought. "I do trust them..." Sort of Eliza Jane thought mid sentence. "But,Sir, I started the the work and it is rather hard to walk away from something that requires your full attention." Eliza Jane meant no disrespect,but she at least had to try and get her point across. She was tempted to roll her eyes but managed to not do so. "Alright,what's the punishment?"

[Jonus]

"Alright,what's the punishment?"

OOC: "grab the leather and Ill fetch the whip. Imma make you pay ;D"


Sergei held up the little dish with a handle and pointed it in the direction of where Lt. Harper and the captain went. He was listening intently.
"Hrm, sound isnt quite right. Lets try to adjust audio quality by refocusing the beam....." he said more to himself really as he pushed a few panels

((OOC: So not Picard *nods* it was soo Owen yes yes...and Jonus...hmm maybe not lol))

"No buts Lt, work or no work there is always someone who can finish it for you... that is unless you were on an away team but you are not, you're on a ship which is almost fully manned and has a full engineering crew. I advice you to lear-" Owen suddenly stopped as he looked a little to the left but then looked to the right and downwards and saw through the glass a crewman who had a weird looking device pointed at himself and Eliza. "Hold on please" he said quietly and polietely to Eliza.

Owen walked a few paces down so he his voice could be clear to the crewman down at the lower floor. "Crewman, may i ask what you are doing?" he asked Seregi.

Kathleen was almost done with sensors when she heard the Captain shout to someone. Turning, she saw Sergei holding a primitive listening device aimed at the Captain and Eliza.

[Jonus]

Sergei jumped as he was addressed.
"Sir! nothing Sir! just testing out my new device here. Experimental tricorder so to speak" Sergei said on the spot as a cheery grin zoomed onto his face as though it was there all along.

Owen rose his eyebrow, an experimental tricorder shaped in the way of a things that could be classed as a hearing or deflective device. "Perhaps you could show me how it works?" he asked keeping his voice clean with authority and with a tone that said he wasn't very impressed.

Eliza Jane was now watching Sergi and the captain.She had laughed to herself as she very well knew what Sergi was trying to do. To help or not to help... Eliza Jane thought.She was already in trouble. She made up her mind to try and help. Eliza Jane went up to them.

"How many times do I have to tell you when you want to experiment with that thing you need to let security know." Eliza Jane told Sergi very casually. "After all, we wouldn't want to have them get interrupted for something very small that is going to be of use to them now would we?" Eliza Jane looked at Captain Star and smiled. "No need to really worry about this sir. At the moment it is sort of incomplete...workin those bugs out."

[Jonus]

"Yup. thats why its experimental. Keeps telling me theres poison gas everywhere" Sergei continued.
"Yes, Lt. Harper Ma'am sir. Let Security know, understood!" he said, and hurried away

Owen let out a soft sigh and turned back to Eliza "I know it wasn't an experimental tricorder... i'm not going to discipline him since i see no point but please try to remind him not to eavesdrop on people's conversations with any devices." He said slowly and quietly. "Now, as for you're punishment...there is none however i do expect next time you will come to the meeting and on time" he said eyeing Eliza in the eye.

Eliza Jane was tempted to release a sigh,however she managed to refrain from doing so. She collasped her hands together in front of her. Eliza Jane's face turned from a happy to a calm,soft,serious look. It almost matched her voice when she said; "Yes sir." Eliza Jane felt like hanging her head. That could have been better.

Owen gave one last nod to the chief engineer and made his way down to the bottam of engineering and walked out and along the corridor where his eyes met the lift doors, he casually walked through themm after the usual hissing sound and stated his destination before the humming of the lift moving began.

((OOC: Don't forget, the Doc did call all hands to come in for there painful physicals))

Eliza Jane got to the bottom of engineering. She let out a sigh before approaching Kathleen. "I'm going to go for that physical now would you and the ensign here mind keeping an eye on things while I'm gone?" Eliza Jane asked. They didn't really have a choice,well,actually Kathleen did,but not the ensign.

Owen then made his way along the corridor once he got out the lift and heard the familar hiss of the doors when he entered the next room which was sickbay.

Xanta was leaning against the door to her office and was litterally twiddling her thumbs when the doors opened to admit the captain. She snapped up straight, her hands by her sides. "Looks like you're the first, Captain," Xanta said with a smile.
