Don't you think that the special effects are kinda corny by today's standards, but that just makes it all that much better?

Yes, TOS is horribly hokey. And yet, it does have a certain charm...XD

Hey those actors and actresses never knew if the show they were putting on was their last show or not. The costumes were low budget that you could actually get from a department store. They just made modifications to them to make them look a bit like they were from the future. The effects, well for those days in the 60s it was like so wow. But Trek was on a strict budget then as they never knew what was going to happen. They were teetering on the edge of success and failure. When the show first started people didn't want to watch it because it was 'too brainy' so they added some action to it. But first starting out they had like hardly any money. The effects of that time were great. If it weren't for TOS you would not have what you do today.

Indeed...the effects were not all too good but i do give them credit for the first Star Trek transporter effect.

That must have been like super hard for them to do. The transporter effect.

Indeed but back to the objective of this thread...as we've seen in the latest things such as Nemesis, VOY and ENT...the effects have really got good so yeah by today the effects are a little corny but still good in there own way.

They really tried to do their best, 'cuz back then, it was more about the stories than the special effects.

Some shows actually do focus more on the special effects than a story line. That really gets to me.
