Xanta got up from her seat, and walked out. She was just leaving when the commander started talking with the captain. As she walked across the bridge to the turbolift, she glanced at Baro'Garen, who nodded at her. Xanta returned the nod, and stepped into the turbolift.

In engineering Eliza Jane Harper had made her own little adjustment. She then checked the time. "I suspect the briefing is over by now." Eliza Jane thought a bit. "Well,nothing more to do now except tinker,go over and make reports and wait for Kath to come back with the information on what we are doing..." I wonder if I'll get in trouble for not showing up?

Kathleen came into engineering, and walked directly to Harper. She held out the PADD with the notes from the meeting on it. "The information from the briefing."

Owen took a step towards the door but stopped and glanced at the Commander "You have the bridge Commander" He told him and made his way to the door "i've got an engineer to talk to" he added and went past the door making his way into the lift. He nodded to Xanta with a smile.

Xanta returned the captain's smile when he stepped onto the turbolift. I wonder where he's going? she thought to herself.

As Owen stood in the lift an amusing stray thought entered his head, most crewmembers got uncomfortable with being alone with the Captain in the turbolift because it usually arose an awkard silence but not knowing Xanta very well or any crewmember except one he wasn't sure if she would feel the tension. Deciding to give the silence an unawkardness he opened his mouth "Are you fitting in well Doctor?" he asked with a polite smile.

"Really?" Owen said inquiring about the long looks. "Well if any crewmember gives you any hassle or you see anyone else getting hassled, please do call me or the Commander" Owen said, he himself really did not like non-tolerating behaviour on his ship or any ship for that matter. Why do you ask?. Owen was tempted to say 'no reason' but he was an honest man. "Curious to know how well my officers are doing socially but i would never expect someone answer if it included personal social life..." He said referring to close relationships and etc. "And i understand that crewmembers can get tensed when there alone with the Captain" Owen finished with a sort of half polite half faint grin.

Eliza Jane Harper Smiled when she heard Kathleen's one worded response to her question about the briefing. Eliza Jane almost giggled. "Should I take that it met your standards?"

"When I was an ensign, I felt a little uncomfortable around senior officers, but as I had more and more interactions with people who have a higher rank than myself, I got more comfortable. I've had to deal with people staring at me ever since I joined Starfleet, but I've also found that the staring stops when people start getting to know me," she said. With a smile, Xanta added, "But then, I'm not like most Denoblians." |

Xanta was sure outspoken Owen thought, it was good to have officers like that so they could share there views and so forth. "I see, well everyone felt and feels uncomfortable at the rank of ensign, i myself almost poured tea over the Captain" he said with a light chuckle as he recalled those days as an ensign. "Well i'm not staring so that must mean i know you already" he joked, Yes some people can be suprised at how casual and social one Captain could be and Owen was certainly one of them.
